MAPACS ASC 2024

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 27th Annual Scientific Congress and the 40th Annual General Meeting of the Malaysian Association of Plastic, Aesthetic and Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons. This is a momentous occasion, as our society celebrates its 40th anniversary. I hope you will all join the congress as it is a moment to rejoice and reminisce the formation of the society back in 1984.

After hosting the successful OSAPS/RSA 2023 last year, it will be great to have our annual local meeting again face to face as we have done for so long before this. It will also be a good time to meet up with friends and spouse as we all miss these occasions which has become a rarity lately as conferences have been virtual for some time. It would be great to see all of us again during the fellowship dinner, the congress banquet and exchange thoughts during the scientific sessions.

This meeting has brought together an array of distinguished faculty members both local and international namely from Sweden, United Kingdom, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia. The scientific program entails a wide range of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgical topics. I am confident that it will be absorbing and will not only give us the most recent updates of the various areas of interests but also make us reflect on our own practice of plastic surgery in order to further enhance our service to our patients.

This congress also aims to stimulate students, paramedics, medical officers, plastic surgical trainees and plastic surgeons to exchange knowledge, ideas and innovations which are crucial in the advancement of our specialty. For this, there are dedicated free paper sessions which has been scheduled on the first day and an e-poster arena for poster presentations.

As a gesture of appreciation, the Organizing Committee has decided that members who attended and contributed to the success of OSAPS/RSA Congress 2023 will be accorded a big discount for registration this year. I hope you can all take this opportunity and make MAPACS ASM/AGM 2024 a memorable event.

I am also very pleased to welcome our industry partners and am very grateful to have tremendous support from them. With a vibrant trade exhibition in display, I would like to invite all of you to visit the trade booths, appreciate the innovative displays and support our partners in return, as it has been similarly difficult for them in these times of recovery from the recent pandemic.

I wish you a valuable and enjoyable conference and hope that the knowledge attained will contribute immensely to better service and patient care in the future.
